Xert Training Deficit and Workout Goal – October 12th, 2020
My Xert Training Deficit for Monday at 8:15am reads “69 XSS”.
The Xert Training Pacer is just a little bit behind High Noon. The FOCUS is at “Endurance”.
I think I’ll stay indoors today, even though it’s beautiful outside, and just aim for my goal. I am convinced that if I do this again in the Spring, I will truly focus on Endurance for Pre-Base and Base, and let the Lower Threshold Power rise as high as possible.

POST-RIDE REVIEW

Now, this is is where things get interesting.
I like to ask myself – “What’s the ‘Fastest’ way to get to my XSS goal, while keeping FOCUS infinitely aerobic, and keep fat burning at or ahead of Carbs?
I set my trainer to ERG mode, and rode 190 watts the entire ride….

The beauty of a ride like this is that you can watch your XSS tick up steadily over time. The problem with a ride like this is that it’s incredibly unrealistic, and it can also be mind-numbingly boring. You’ll see that I stood up around 30:00 and rode out of the saddle. I needed a change.
The Xert Training Deficit revealed, post-ride, the following graph:

I beat the Workout Goal of 65 points, and held on to my fitness.
The Xert Progression Line continues to float up. I may do this same workout again tomorrow. But I might also hit the mountain bike trails again and see what my fitness can do out in the singletrack.

Thanks for reading!
