Low Intensity With the Xert Adaptive Training Advisor 9-28-2020

Good Morning!

Here is a screenshot of my Xert Adaptive Training Advisor recommendations for Monday.

Xert Adaptive Training Advisor recommendations for Monday, September 28th, 2020.

I am definitely tired from the weekend, but I know that the Adaptive Training Advisor is telling me to go slow and steady, and just ride for points.

My deficit for the day is just 38 XSS points. The workout goal is 69 XSS points. FOCUS is super low.

This requires what is called a “BLUE/RED” ride. “BLUE/RED” rides translate into BLUE watts on the Xert Garmin field, and RED fat on the Xert Garmin field below it.

It looks like this:

Want to ride for BASE or LSD or Zone 2 or burn fat? Ride BLUE on your watts, and RED on your fat!

You’ll get a good, low intensity ride in that accommodates your Xert ATA recommendations.

So that was a mundane 50 minutes on the trainer. Here’s what it accomplished.

Xert Adaptive Training Advisor Post Ride
I was at a deficit of 38 XSS before, and that did not change, but look carefully at the needle from yesterday, in a previous post.

The needle definitely changed, moving ever so slightly towards 12 o’clock. Furthermore, the diamond predictor needle moved as well.

This rainbow dial in the Xert Adaptive Training Advisor is one of the most ingenious features in Xert. When you follow the dial, and move your mouse around the different segments of the rainbow, you get a general description of whether you’re on pace, behind pace, need to train, or don’t. It literally helps keep you FOCUS’ed and centered.

I’ll write more about the dial itself, but for now, I can take comfort in the fact that I did the work. I didn’t get the recommended 69 XSS, but I did get about 52 or 53. THAT work, boosted my Lower Threshold Power to 213 watts, which means I am getting more economical, and can burn fat at higher overall intensities.

We’ll see what the Adaptive Training Advisor says in the morning. Until then, I have to head out to do my day job.

Thanks for reading!
