In its most basic form, the Online Bike Coach training methodology only involves five pieces of equipment (besides yourself, of course):
- Your Bike
- A Resistance Unit (usually a stationary trainer, although there are other options)
- A Training Protocol (we use the PerfPro and Xert protocols)
- Data Collection & Visualization device(s), usually a power meter plus head unit or “smart” trainer plus computer, tablet or other device)
- Accessories like cables, Bluetooth, ANT+ or other items to integrate your equipment
If you already have the equipment and are experienced in getting it all to work together with PerfPro or Xert, great.
