300 Watts of FTP is the Goal: Let’s Watch The SCIENCE Behind the Process

Well, after multiple false-starts and other priorities, I finally have a goal and a way to help us all learn the process of fitness and cycling performance. I’m going to use N=1, myself, as I renew some goals for 2022. The first goal is to try to achieve 300 watts at FTP.
How I’ll Assess My FTP
I’ve been using a platform that I won’t be mentioning (on the advice of my attorney), so instead of some mathematical claim that can’t be validated, I’ll be using multiple scientific instruments to show where my Thresholds are, intrinsically, and how I obtained those values. We’ll be using the Vo2master, multiple Moxy monitors in different locations on the body, a Polar H10 heart strap, and Runalyze Software, along with PerfPro Studio, FatMaxxer App, and more.
Right Now, It’s NOT about 300 Watts; It’s About Raising LOWER THRESHOLD
The goal of base is to train the body for Economy. Stamina is the fundamental Pillar for Polarized Training. When you train using DFAA-1, you can get a clearer picture of how your body is responding to the training. Wattage and traditional heart rate become secondary to the DFAA-1 fraction. As a previous post I made showed – when you train using DFAA-1 values, wattage at Lower Threshold Power goes up, and traditional heart rate goes up toward traditional Threshold heart rate. Furthermore, every client I had who used DFAA-1 to train this summer, lost weight, slept better, and stayed stronger for a longer period of time.
Raise the Left, Then Train the Right.
A longtime friend had a website and forum about bicycles and technology and training. Sadly, the site is no longer live, but it’s still in the wayback machine. The Willett brothers pioneered the term “Raise the Left, Then Train the Right“. It means this; when you train the aerobic side of things, you can then train the intensity. The Power-Duration Curve will be larger and longer, which is the entire point of training; increase capacity to do work!
Here’s a video explaining my thoughts. Thanks for reading, thanks for watching, and let’s ENJOY THE RIDE in 2022!
